What is Clubfoot?
Clubfoot is a congenital deformity, a birth defect that is caused by a shortened Achilles tendon. It consists of a range of foot abnormalities, which can make the foot twisted out of shape or position.
This deformity is easily cured if treated properly, the baby is otherwise healthy and has no other problems. According to a report, 1 out of every 1000 babies are born with this problem. Clubfoot is fairly common in low and middle-income countries.
Even though, Clubfoot can be treated easily, it is still widespread in the rural areas of Pakistan. People are not educated enough to know that this deformity can be fixed. The goal of PMSG is to create awareness among the people and treat these little kids so that they can be valuable members of society.
